Its similarity to the original, even with the fundamental changes like the longer and curvier silencer, only made it easier to add to the infinite number of replicas.
Even though none of these replicas ever achieved and success on the sporting front (they were quickly replaced in the sporting arena by the new Frigerio-Rotax) purely on an emotional level, the euphoria created by the staggering amount of victories achieved by the prodigy Alessandro Gritti (known as Franco) and emphasized by another giant in the field in successive years (1973 and 1974), namely Tino Gualdi, embedded an eagerness in fans that lives on till today in 2005. Some manufacturing craftsmen, in fact, still make various spares which are readily available at markets so that the many enthusiasts can disguise their Puch's appearance in a seemingly attractive manner.
The problem is not unique, also using the "Jawa from Stodulka" as an analogy, in that it created an imbalance in the marketplace where, due to the excessive customizing and "transformation" of models, it has become near impossible to find an original, real Puch i.e. the series models.

These, if perfectly preserved and with all their documentation, have become extremely rare and their worth, already high, is destined to increase as stale replicas continue to flood the market.
This is probably the reason why, when I see one of these overly shiny, as only a new motorcycle can be, copies it raises no interest in me. All it does is bring to mind the sad old men who cruise around the streets of Memphis with their white teased and sprayed hairstyles and the awful fringed leather jackets, to commemorate the anniversary of the unforgettable King of Rock.
The fact remains that the phenomenon shows no sign of abating and no one can tell how long it will last.
And what ever happened to Gritti's Puch??
The original, unique the one that can't be imitated; made in titanium, electron and magnesium, which came directly from Austria on the eve of each race and swiftly returned there once it crossed the finish line??
You can all rest easy; it is in good hands, actually excellent hands I should say:
Gritti himself has it!! Well done Franco!!
A bit like saying: "all the rest has 31 except ……… which has 28".
