1977 – With a 1976 filled with second places behind them, after Perego's move to Sachs, the season will be remembered with Osvaldo Scaburri triumphant in his class.
Besides the disappointing result at the Valleys of Bergamo (4/5 June), with Roberto Cerri 2
nd on a 50cc and once again Sommerauer 2nd and Scaburri 3rd in the 75cc class, the rest of the season saw Scaburri on his 75cc battling it out and winning against a tough opposition.
First place in the 75cc class at the Czech Six Days, held at Povazska Bystrica (5/10 September), also at the European Championships as well as at the Italian Championships were part of the spoils for this extremely able and fearless rider for Puch-Frigerio.
Scaburri was the first Italian rider able to win the 75cc class at the European Championship, agaist tough competition like the outstanding Germans riding for Simson, Schneidewind and Mauersberger, who held the title for the previous three years.

Cosmetically small improvements are made, including a new more streamlined fuel tank.
In an attempt to up their game Frigerio-Rotax adds a new 350cc to their range, despite this there isn't a marked improvement in results achieved.
At the Valli Bergamasche (4/5 June) we find Sergio Belussi only managing a 3
rd place in the 175cc class, same as Gianangelo Croci in the 350cc class.
During the European Championships the able Sergio belussi could not manage more than a 4
th place, still on his 175cc.
