1978 – Attendance is narrowed down to just the 75cc class, to make up for this Scaburri and his Puch-Frigerio's sensational superiority was underlined once again in 1978.
This star combination was the talk of the season and once again they conquered first place both in the European Championship (won 5 out of 6 trials) and Italian Championships.
On the international circuit, there were no contenders to topple their great supremacy in the class.
At the Valli (Pellegrino Terme 3/4 June) Scaburri's victory was reinforced by Roberto Vernassa taking 2
nd place and Silvano Rota finishing in 8th position.
At the Swedish Six Days at High Chaparral (4/9 September) the good results of the two Puchs ridden by Scaburri and Luigi Medardo, who finished 1
st and 5th in the 75cc class respectively, enabled the Italian team (Medardo, Perego, Scaburri and G. Signorelli) to win the silver Throphy.
For this event two particular models were produced, totally red except for the white mudguards and the headlight housing, with shortened sides and a number plate housed at the back just above the Koni gas shock absorbers.

In 1978 the Frigerio-Rotax model was revised.
The new and improved F2 boasts front Marzocchi ZTI suspension with advanced 35mm hub, a swing arm with two Marzocchi oleopneumatic shocks, for which inclination is, sensibly, limited. Cosmetically, the fuel tank is less angular nad new borders are added with a new terminal.
This doesn't, however, change the results which are becoming lackluster and are indication of the declining fortunes of the brand.
At the Valleys of Bergamo, both Sergio Belussi and Angelo Comotti could do no better than a 5
th place in the 175cc and 250cc classes, confirming the difficulties being experienced.
