It is worth mentioning that Brissoni ranked first also at the Valli Bergamasche (San  Pellegrino Terme, 3rd 4th June), but also Dario Salvi ranked 6th in the 50 class, Maurizio Radici ranked 5th and Mariano Mutti 7th in the 100 class, Pietro Gagni ranked 6th in the 125 class, Andrea Marinoni ranked 3rd in the 175 class and Guglielmo Andreini ranked 4th followed by Giacomo Vismara and  Roberto Vismara ranking 5th in the 350 class.
There were very good performances at the end of the European Championship: Pietro Gani ranked 3rd in the 125 class, Andrea Marinoni 2nd in the 175 class, and Guglielmo Andreini 2nd in the 350 class.
During the Swedish Six Days in High Chapparral (4th – 9th September), SWM’s team was chosen to represent Italy at the Trophy.
Although they didn’t come in first, the competition was positive as there were two first in the class and the entire team (Andreini, Brissoni, Gagni, F. Gualdi, A. Marinoni, Taiocchi) ranked 7th thanks to the excellent placements by Andrea Marinoni, 4th in the 175 class, Gualtiero Brissoni, 1st in the 250 class, Guglielmo Andreini 1st in the 350 class.
Andreini reached the top of the absolute ranking. And SWM ranked 2nd in the Industry Team ranking.

1979 – 1979 too was a year rich in successes and growth, it started under a bright star with the presentation of the new racing models, called RS GS -TF1.
Off road models ended with an odd figure, Cross ones ended with an even figure.
According to the tests carried out in RS – GS and the gathered experience, new interesting changes were made to the frame triangular shape, on the upper shock absorber attack and on the design of the back suspension.
The new TF models represented the top models in the production, but were joined by some previous models which were still traded, like the six or seven geared Silver Vase 125, 175 and 250, coming into the single cheap version called Off-Roads with iron rims, non sophisticated suspensions, mass-produced engines and coloured red and white, or like the old-fashioned RS-GS, coming into the single GSL version, coloured red and white too.
