1964 – Changes did not only take place on a planning level, but also followed the new European trend of economic expansion and rapid growth.
Puch's attention was centered on two emerging classes, the 50cc and the 125cc.
From an elite phenomenon, the motorcycle was fast becoming popular with the youth, the working-class and the entire middleclass to capture a substantial slice of the market.
The smaller engine capacity motorcycles were more easily accessible and more suitable in the postwar Europe, which was taking the giant step of motorizing the masses.
In those years the most efficient promotional message was transmitted through the great international races which were closely followed, with great interest, by all levels of the population.
Puch took its first steps in the "Cadet Class", introduced only at the beginning of 1962. It is important to note that as early as 1964 Puch introduced to the public an intriguing 50, well equipped to face off-road driving.

This special model aimed at young riders boasted a single spar frame with a strengthened steering pipe, engine cooled by the forced flow of air and a stamped steel rear swing arm. Simple, light and elegant it embodied all the characteristics required to make it competitive: silencer, fenders and handle bars mounted high, protected air intake system and very discreetly efficient shock absorbers. With a red frame, chrome mudguards, same as the 250 of the previous decade and a large seat also upholstered in red with broad white bands, these small exciting machines opened the way to a large squadron whose numbers could not be contained.
1965 – Puch's increased interest in a market share motivated the racing department to come up with increasingly innovative ideas. They intended entering the field as a manufacturer and brand to be recognized and to once again becoming major role players in the international racing world.
