1966 – From the very beginning the Morini hit the bullseye, producing a motorcycle which was already highly competitive. The secret of this success could be found in the fact that if Morini’s brain was in Bologna, his heart was in Bergamo. Alfonso Morini, Dante Lambertini and Nerio Biavati followed the Bologna design but it was in Bergamo that the development of the various models was tested in the field and thanks to the working collaboration with the Dall’Ara family that the numerous successes continued to arrive.
The workshop of Mr Aldo was a sure point of reference for the pool of Bergamo riders – organised and with direct assistance they formed an authentic team capable of keeping Morinis at the top of the national and international classifications for many years. Each invention concocted in Bologna was then tested on the next Sunday by the best test riders in the world and every Monday morning there was new input for Bologna.
Franco, Sandro and Ezio Dall’Ara, Edoardo Dossena, Alessandro Gritti, Arnaldo Farioli, Giovanni Collina, Fausto Oldrati, Giuseppe Signorelli, Demetrio Bonini, Bernardino Gualdi, Carlo Paganessi, Piero Polini and Pietro Rota are just a few of the many who tasted success in those years on the seat of the Morini.
Who better than them to test the machinery, suggest modifications and always design new improvements?

The synergy created was a determining factor for the growth of the bike, year after year without making a single error, maintaining the role of ‘primadonna’ for several years.
After a year of testing, in 1966 Morini showed its merit also in the new category and international successes arrived:
At ‘the Valli’  Edoardo Dossena was judged the best of the Italians and conquered the 125cc class coming 4th. This was an undoubtedly prestige win which commercially contributed significantly to the marque’s success.
In the same year, Franco Dall’Ara loaded the ‘house’ Morini into his Fiat 1100 and, with his brother Sandro, they left for the ISDT in Sweden - riding privately they took a surprising gold medal.
